Thanks to Donors, First Publicly Accessible 3D Printer in Brownsville for Product Designers-in-training and Local Creatives

Thanks to the support of Made in Brownsville’s generous donors, we were able to acquire our first 3D printer. It will be used in conjunction with our youth Apparel and Product Design Studio and will support our other studios and workshops around Urban Design. Our Product Designers-in-training learned Rhinoceros 3D modeling software last week and will be modeling some prototypes for products to sell at our kiosk in the MGB POPS retail market, opening May 29th.

Willie Minter, one of three Apparel and Product Designers-in-training at MiB is really grateful for the donors saying, [wolf_testimonials_start][wolf_testimonial_slide cite=””]”This 3D printer will help turn my imagination into reality.”[/wolf_testimonial_slide][wolf_testimonials_end]

Our new Cube 3 printer by 3D Systems prints two colors and can print up to a 6 inch cube. It is the first publicly accessible 3D printer in Brownsville. We are excited to add this as a service offering to the community to help creatives visualize and prototype their ideas, building the innovators of tomorrow.
