Youth Design Center is a youth creative agency and innovation hub that trains and employs youth in design and technology to increase access to the innovation economy.
We believe that those closest to the problem should be at the forefront of the solution. For that reason, we are committed to identifying opportunities that utilize human-centered design theory to overcome barriers, empowering our Creative Apprentices to actively improve their community.
YDC's Creative Apprenticeship Program (CAP) is a multiyear program with three defined tiers: Exposure, Immersion, and Experience. Participants of the Exposure program are introduced to Graphic Design, Digital Media, and 3D Design/Architecture disciplines. The second tier is an Immersive Pre-Apprenticeship that takes a deeper dive into more advanced skills within our three studios.
Once participants have completed at least 3 Immersion courses, they are eligible to participate in the third tier of the program, Experience. Apprentices at this stage are eligible for internship and job placement opportunities through our Design Without Limits program.
